- So, Atticus lost the case and Tom Robinson was found guilty for the "rape" of Mayella Ewell and while Tom was in jail he tried to escape and was killed by the police officers, he was shot 17 times. I feel like what happened was wrong because Tom was not guilty of anything. And then after Tom was killed Bob was killed which was a little unfair because Bob didn't make up the lie that Mayella was raped by Tom, Mayella did so in my opinion Mayella deserved to be murdered.....even tho Bob clearly saw that Mayella didn't get raped he went along with the lie which is still bad...but he didn't create the lie in the first place.
- What should have happened was during the trail they should have realized with all the obvious and logical evidence that It was Bob who did this to his daughter and Tom was not able to strangle her because he wasn't even able to use his arm because it got caught in some machine and Tom was left handed and the bruise was on the right side of her face, and his right hand was out of use.
- And even If Tom was found guilty still Mayella should have got murdered because she deserved it the most because she framed and innocent man for raping her and she is responsible for him being killed in prison even tho she didn't shoot him she is the reason he was in jail in the first place, maybe if she wasn't trying to kiss people she knew she wasn't supposed to she wouldn't have got caught and she wouldn't have had to make up a quick lie.

This is just my interpretation but I'm pretty sure that Bob did know that Mayella wasn't raped and just wanted to cover up the obvious abuse coming from him. Also, I have to believe that some people in the jury did believe what Atticus was saying but that they were either too scared to be seen in the town as defending him and calling Mayella a liar or that they were just sure that Tom was going to be convicted anyway so didn't see a point to speaking out/trying to change the other jurors minds. I totally disagree that Mayella should've gotten killed because I don't think most of it was her fault. She was put in a very bad situation with her fathers abuse and her family situation.

DeleteI agree with Clair. I think that people believed Atticus, but just were afraid to speak up because Bob Ewell is so crazy he would have do something to them. Mayella was also put in a bad situation because tbh i think Bob Ewell had the idea to frame Tom.
