White privilege and White policemen

"It could be worse, Jack. The only thing we've got going is a black man's word against the Ewells'. The evidence boils down to you-did--I didn't. The Jury couldn't possibly be expected to take Tom Robinson's word against the Ewells' --are you acquainted with the Ewells?"

This is what I think is the first obvious example of white privilege. Atticus is talking to Uncle Jack about the ugly things kids will be saying to Jem and Scout about their father defending a black man. Uncle Jack finally asks Atticus what he thinks will be the outcome of his court battle and Atticus lays it on him. The court is most-likely to believe the Ewells weather Robinson is innocent or guilty, just because he is while and they favor white people in court. Sadly, this is what was being expected. In an extremely racist time and place like this, People Of Color bear the brunt of oppression. I wish the judges would give both men a chance to state their cases and hear them out equally but I know that will not be the case. Our society today is lined with white privilege. The result of almost every action one makes is filtered by skin color, appearance, and judgmental views on that race. Everyone with a television sees the police brutality and unnecessary force and killings POC undergo every day. Police officers are know to target people of color with false premises. We do not live in a color blind society and white privilege holds up white supremacy.

When your black and you get pulled over

Because of white privilege...
